Silly me. I forgot to put a guest check on my commenting scripts. Thus, spambots were able to use a copy of my original form to send in data from another site. Let's see them do that now that it checks with the PHP to make sure you're logged in.
Also, I've added a new/old system to the news system. You'll see "[NEW]" in bold letters next to the comments if there are new comments. A similar system will be implemented on the tutorial and resource system in soon time. |

You know how some people like to be mean? Remember when the new consoles came out, and people would buy out a store, then resell them at 5 times as much? Well, here's one of those people who wanted to do that!
This lady had 100K ready to spend on buying out an AT&T store of t heir iPhones. She paid off the first person in line with 800 bucks to take his spot. Then, when the store opened, she learned of the strict "1 Phone Per Customer" rule that had been enacted.
Well, she walked out with a whopping 1 phones in her hand. The guy she paid off, on the other hand, was with a party, only buying 2 phones. With the "extra money" he had been so generously given, he stocked up on his extra phone supplies while a potential loser walked beaten badly. Owned! |

Microsoft, as you know, has a tendency to copy every online service it can find, make it slightly better, and sell it back to you. Well, it looks like they're running slim on online sources. They've copied just too many. Therefore, they've gone to businesses.
This time, they copied Chuck E. Cheese. You sign in with your Windows Live ID (Your msn screen-name, if you have one), and play games. From those games, you earn tickets. These tickets can then be used to purchase prizes. These prizes include crappy things like t-shirts, 1 free ringtone, etc. They also include big things like a free copy of Vista Ultimate, an xBox 360, a Zune, etc.
They add new games, prizes, and puzzles daily. So far, I've, by myself, let's just say , have earned almost 10,000 tickets. I've ordered a copy of Vista, as well as one song download. It really works, and is legitimate.
Now then, the down sides. This service only works in the states, and each prize takes the famous six to eight weeks to arrive (yes, even "1 free ringtone/song download" . It'll be sometime near the end of August before I get either of my prizes. The point is that they're free, and all you do is play games to get them. Check it out!

Alright, I thank uzegonemad for actually telling me that the system was messed up. There's a contact page, guys. When you see a problem, odds are that I'm not aware of it. Please use that contact page and contact me!
Anyways, the problem was with all the frickin' spambots. I try to be friendly to guests, but thanks to all these damn "Viagra" and "Cialis" discounts that everybody is so convinced we need, I have to be mean. Guest commenting has been disabled in all areas. The commenting system should work again for members, though. |

| Posted in: General NewsIMEEM Prevents Music Downloads |
|
Today, I learned that IMEEM, the so-called "YouTube of music", has solidified their defense against downloading their music. It is incredibly hard to locate the FLV that is the song being played. That has always been the case. However, there were generators that had solved the IMEEM algorithm, and were able to find the FLVs.
They still exist today, and they work just the same. They find the correct file. But now, it's impossible to download that file. I had learned of several tricks to get the music (I was only doing this to try it out, say different and I'll call you a liar). Most of them worked. Apparently, IMEEM knew 'em as well. They stopped working after a while.
Now, they've finally solidified their defense. If you somehow manage to find the FLV, and attempt to download it, you'll get a message saying that it doesn't exist. In reality, the IMEEM team has just made it impossible to download them, replacing them with imaginary files. The message sent to the browser is that the file does not exist.
Simply put, the uploading of illegal music is hard to stop. At least now, there is no successful way to download it. |
